The Review: Hi friends! Hope you all have been hanging up ok, staying healthy, and drinking delicious wine. I certainly know I have. I've actually gotten so stir crazy that I helped a friend shovel dirt for fun the other day.

For today's review, we're gonna take it allllll the way back to the very first wine I ever wrote notes about in my journal, the 2015 La Lecciaia Sassarello. I first read about this wine in one of Wegman's "Top 20 Wines of the Season" lists (a great source for good wine btw) and knew I wanted to try it. A Tuscan wine that has received acclaim for $14?? What a steal. This wine checks all the boxes... it's truly a classic and delicious Tuscan wine.

Now for the tasting. On the nose, There's a lot of a spiced note, almost whiskey-like. There was also a nice crisp cherry and plum note. It smelled so good. I was already in love with it before I even took a sip. When I did take a sip, I got a lot of cherry and dark chocolate immediately. The undertone features a plum note from the merlot. There was a long finish that coated the palate. Overall, this wine is moderately full in body with a mild (pretty smooth) tannin presence.

If you're looking for a classic Tuscan wine, here it is. And for $14 at Wegmans? Man what more can you ask for. This wine would literally go with anything... Bread and cheese? Yep. Red meat? ya bruh. Pizza? why not. I'm telling ya, this wine is the stuff. Go grab a bottle asap... Or order it online and have it shipped...

drink what you like,

db
