The Review: Hello all! Welcome back for another edition of Drew's (that's me in case you forgot) Wine List- Quarantine Edition. Today is gonna be a treat because we're doing our first rosé today! Ahhh rosé... such a misunderstood drink. But that's why we're here to change that! See, rosé doesn't have to be that horrifyingly sweet juice (hey, if that's what you like then you do you) that it's chalked up to be. It can be quite delicious, and sometimes even pretty complex.

For our first rosé, we'll be taking a look at the 2018 Charles & Charles Rosé- a product of a collaboration between winemaking legends Charles Smith (One of my idols. He's a total rockstar... you should look him up and read his bio) and Charles Bier. Charles Smith wines are famous for their fun and eye-catching labels, as exhibited with this dope American flag style label. Anyways, on to the review.

This rosé is a crazy combo of Rhone Valley varietals and is salmon pink in colors. There's a lot of strawberry and kiwi on the nose, as well as some candied watermelon (think Jolly Rancher). It smells absolutely delicious I gotta say. On the taste, there's a great crisp and tart cherry and grapefruit note right on the tip of the tongue. There's also a little bit of blood orange and justtttt the slightest savory quality. It's a really great balance of flavors... crisp and clean acidity balanced by a smooth and savory finish.

Overall, this wine is a fantastic display of balance and is definitely chuggable. Please do yourself a favor and drink this asap. Oh and also, if you have a grocery store with any respectable wine selection at all they should have this.

bere solo vino buono,
